I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Dean. I love him. Yes he is definitely promiscuous, but he is very upfront in his dealings with the opposite sex. If you have ever lived on a college campus then you know that casual hookups are as frequent as coffee runs. When Allie is feeling bad about her night with Dean, he is very good about getting her out of her own head and showing her that she is allowed to have sexual experiences without needing to feel bad about herself. I felt like Deans character grew throughout the book. He starts off as fun and flirty and looking to go to law school because it’s what is expected. He grows into a loving, monogamous relationship, finds his true calling and finds out how to make it happen. He also realizes Allie may need to move to L.A. and makes sure her dad can go with her if she decides to go. Allie grows as well. She starts off in a stagnant relationship that is quickly turning toxic. She ends the relationship and ends up having a one night stand which is totally out of character for her. She then finds herself in another relationship. She also decides to follow her heart and takes only parts that feels are good for her. She also evaluated
S her relationship with Dean and moves forward
Another terrific book in a fantastic series.

The Score OffCampus Book 3 edition by Elle Kennedy Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

This a solid 4. Not as good as the original, and best, in the series The Deal (that was almost a 5!). That said, it was still much better than The Mistake and waaay better than The Goal (the 4th and worst of the books in the series).

Dean and Allie are funny and mature in a way that Logan and Grace are not. Their chemistry is scorching hot! Dean definitely needed to be knocked down from his Life of Dean history, and the plot provided opportunities for him to hit bottom and grow from there. I did not see his career change coming! But I liked it a lot.

I generally don't have any patience for players, but I LOVED how this book celebrated sexuality with gender equality. Dean is completely non-judgemental of women who like sex and have it often and with multiple partners. I loved that part of Allie's growth was to embrace that philosophy (which she already had) and stop caring about what others say about it. That double standard is my biggest pet peeve.

While Allie's dad wasn't a fully developed character, he wasn't one-dimensional either and this book did a much better job with secondary character development than #2 and #4 in the series. I liked him.

Bottom line I recommend it. )
The third in the Off-Campus series features Allie Hayes, aspiring actress, and hockey star Dean Di Laurentis. I think I match the majority here in that I loved The Deal (#1 in the series, amazing!), enjoyed The Mistake (#2 was pretty good!) and was lukewarm about The Score.

There were some issues here that marred my enjoyment of this book. The hero and heroine start off in a lust based relationship, which is not entirely a bad thing. That allows them to develop an authentic friendship which turns into love... which I really liked about this novel. That being said, I never really lost the "lust love" feeling I had with these two. Even at the end the bedroom was such a MAJOR topic with the couple.. but especially with the hero.

There were some really good scenes in this book - one in particular that made the entire book worth reading - when Dean rushes frantically to Allie's side after a terrible altercation. And what made this book utterly charming was how Dean and Allie sort of fell into their relationship. I think the character's just weren't as developed as the one's in the first two books.

Examples and MINOR spoilers Allie is an actress but her career seems very easy and on the side, no struggle or thought. Why is she so successful? It's like I missed a backstory. Allie's dad is the sole reason she's at the college she's enrolled at but he doesn't come up in her thoughts when moving to LA comes up. Allie's ex added some good tension to the novel but his personality veered depending on the situation and the ultimate conclusion to the ex situation seemed rushed and unlikely. Although Dean is magically cured of his promiscuous ways toward the beginning of the novel, he actually is intrigued by a threesome with his lady love toward the END of the novel... but I couldn't tell if he was joking?

Overall a good new adult romance and definitely worth a read. Lots to enjoy here not mentioned above. Definitely recommend the Life of Dean!
Fairly standard New Adult romance featuring a bad-boy player who falls hard for his friend after they have a drunk "one night stand" that turns into a fling that turns into love.

The story opens with a bang, as Allie, hiding from the long-term boyfriend she recently dumped, barges in and and busts up hockey player Dean's three-way and then ends up sleeping with him the same night after a bottle of tequila.

I loved seeing Dean beg Allie. I loved that Allie owns her sexuality and but also fears her dependence on having a boyfriend. I didn't enjoy that the characters' first time together was told in bits and pieces as a booze-fueled flashback that Allie only slowly begins to remember after waking up naked with Dean.

The story felt a bit bloated at times and the romance arc wasn't the most thrilling for me personally, but it was overall a fun audio book. The male narrator was pleasant, including his female voices, and I liked the female narrator as well. I would listen to the previous three books in the series.

Content warnings for alcohol, drugs, secondary character death, and depression
