OMG! I will start this review by saying it ends in a cliff hanger. I’m not a fan of a cliff hanger, but when they are done correctly and are legitimately needed to tell the characters story in more detail, I’m fine with a cliff hanger. This cliff hanger was needed (in my opinion) because Rory and Diesel’s story is beyond words! This is the best book in the series so far and I cannot wait for book 2!

Diesel is part of the Savage MC out of Tennessee. After his conniving baby momma keeps trying to have his son kidnapped, while simultaneously using him as a cash cow, he decides to leave the safety of his MC and go on the run. He winds up at a secret hideaway only a few select brothers know about in Whitefish, Montana. Having been burned badly by two deceitful women in the past, he is not about to put the safety of the one person he loves above all else at stake. Diesel’s son Ryan means more to him than his own life or his own happiness. Once in Whitefish, Diesel finds himself next door neighbor to an intriguingly beautiful woman with secrets of her own. Remembering the burning he’s taken in the past from lying women, Diesel is constantly looking for fault in Rory’s actions, words, her demeanor in general….basically he’s putting her under a microscope and using his past to paint his present. Diesel messes up so much with Rory, you begin to wonder why she keeps taking him back. Then we get a scene with sweet Diesel, the real man who opens up to Rory and feels safe letting his true self shine through in the dark of the night. That’s when I realize why she takes him back. Sweet Diesel is what dreams are made of. High octane Diesel, well, he’s what nightmares are made of and then some. I wanted to weep for Rory at the end of the book when Diesel calls her out on her supposed ‘lies.’ Rory has always been honest with Diesel and loves both the complicated man and the sweet man child he is trying to protect. She sees the cracks in his shell and only wants to fill them back up with love and pieces of her own soul to make him stronger. He sees his cracks and he wants to make them even wider and jagged in order to hurt her enough that the hurt will keep her away from him and lessen his risk of being hurt and betrayed by her. If only they both didn’t have such scars from the past, they might have avoided some of hurtful words between them and would have been able to open up to each other more about their pasts. But, in a demented way, that is what makes this book so riveting and spell binding and what makes the wait for the second book so painfully sweet. I can’t wait to get my grubby hands on it and I preordered it as soon as it was announced. Book one will give you all the feels…hurt, anger, indignation, happiness, hot sex, adorable man child, the anxiety of a horribly abusive ex, and the inescapable feeling of entrapment from a history you can’t seem to escape. Five stars is not enough for this book. This is one of the author’s best books to date and that’s saying something as she never disappoints me as a reader. One click now. You won’t regret it!

I love all of Jordan Marie's books, but I must admit the MC series has a special place in my heart. From Devil's book, I couldn't wait to read Diesel's story but was a little disappointed that it was going to be done in two parts, so I waited for both books to be out before I read this one so I could read them back to back.
So, let me say this I loved and hated Diesel. I told Rory to kick him to the curve about 50 times! He was hot and smoldering and sexy and passionate but he could also be so cruel. I understood why he had a hard time trusting Rory because of his ex- trying to kidnap his son and then being betrayed by his last girlfriend, but his ups and downs re his relationship with Rory got to be too much at times.
I loved Rory and I also loved that she would not tolerate his BS, no matter how much she was in love with him.
The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is I didn't like the twist in the plot near the end of the book - too far fetched. I think it worked with the plot but it really didn't seem plausible and required the reader to stretch his/her imagination too much. I still liked the book and can't wait to read Rory!
I love Jordan Marie’s writing, especially her MC romances, and she never fails to completely blow me away with the intense emotion and dramatic plots. These types of stories are where Jordan Marie’s talent as an author shines. She has an incredible gift for telling difficult, powerful and gripping stories, drawing the reader into them with a vivid, rich and dynamic plot. Her bikers are hardened, complex alpha males, and she pairs them with strong, resilient, independent women able to withstand the gauntlet of turmoil and adversity awaiting them on the road to their happily ever after. Although beautiful love stories in their own way, they are not sweet and romantic. They’re hard fought and even harder won, and the roller coaster of emotions that Jordan deals out along the way is as harrowing as the danger these couples must overcome.

Diesel is the first book in the Love and War duet, a romantic saga within Jordan Marie’s Savage Brothers MC—Tennessee Chapter series. As such, this book ends on a particularly tense note. I’m not going to say anything about the plot at all because anything I say would be spoiler, and this story is one that should be read without any preamble in order for the reader to experience the full impact of the story as it unfolds. In fact, there is a teaser chapter at the end of Diesel for the second book, Rory, and I quickly slammed my shut before I could read a single word of it. All I will say is that this is an exceptionally gritty, raw and emotional tale. Both Diesel and Rory’s stories are fraught with incredible evil, manipulation and betrayal. It was shocking, hair-raising, at times even frustrating, and I was completely gutted. There was passion in all its forms on these pages, and I couldn’t read this story fast enough.

While some readers may not like the idea of a two-part story, I believe that anything less than that would not have done these characters or their story justice. I am literally on the edge of my seat, anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this story, and I’m just going to let myself enjoy this anticipation as the excitement builds in me for the next book. Five stars from me for Diesel by Jordan Marie!
