The concept of making a connection between the "Big Bang Theory" and "God created it all theory" is an interesting one. As I read the book, I was drawn in by the concept and found the conclusions convincing. The name of one of the characters, "Jasper" also called 'Jay" seems a distraction, either call him Jasper or Jay as it really has nothing to do with the story liine. The story does lack the "hook" that keeps you from putting it down and reading late into the night. Overall the book was interesting and a good read.

David's Gift is an excellent resource for parents to share with their children about how Darwin's theory of evolution and the Bible's creation story do coexist. It is a charming story which reads like a memoir. At the end of the book, there is a list of research materials parents, adults in general, may find helpful.
David's Gift is a very well written book that bridges a gap between science and religion. It was a very quick and easy read. It is a very insightful and well researched book. I would highly recommend this to any teen or adult.
I have always wondered why Science and Creation couldn't be as Harold talks about in this great book.. It kept my interest so much I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it to anyone! Great Book!
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I did not think it would be possible to offer a convincing argument that evolution and creationism could support each other. This book does exactly that and does it in a highly entertaining way. Read the book and you will find yourself thinking about the characters and message for months to come!

Near the bottom of the front cover of "David's Gift" is the statement "A book that will help young students reconcile intelligent design with science. Every church in America should have a copy of this book in their library." I whole-heartedly agree Everyone from Biblical fundamentalists to those who only believe in science can learn something from this book. Keller has woven a fascinating story around a philosophy that merges the notion of ordination by God with the ever-emerging science of the origin of the universe. It is a hopeful tale that can bring tears of joy. I recommend "David's Gift" to all.
David's Gift is an easy read on a complicated subject. Taking a look at evolution from a perspective I'd never thought of, I found myself wondering, "Could this be true?" Keller does a good job of linking creation with evolution. Although I didn't come away totally convinced, it's given me something to think about. I don't expect to have all the answers until I sit down with Jesus and who knows? I'm sure we'll all be in for a lot of surprises - and maybe we'll find out Keller was as close as anybody.
